Nizam heirs demand CompensationThe News Minute | 15 October, 2014 | 9.00 am ISTThe legal heirs of Nizam VII, Mir Osman Ali Khan, met Telengana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao seeking compensation for the Nizam properties acquired by the Andra Pradesh government during 1955-56. It is reported that 23,253 acres of land owned Nizams was acquired by government and the government declared to have purchased 15,964 acres for Rs. 4 lakhs. In a statement Reported in Deccan Chronicle* this amount is not yet received. A special court to address the Land Grab (Prevention) Act and all cases of illegal sale and encroachment of the Nizam’s properties was assured by the Chief Minister in 1991. But nothing was done.Nizam Family Welfare Association is demanding the present market value for the acquired land.
