10-year-old madrassa student in Telangana allegedly chained by teacher as punishment

The News Minute | November 3, 2014 | 09:35 am IST A 10-year-old madrassa student was allegedly chained by a teacher as punishment in Telangana's Nalgonda district, states a report by PTI. Locals spotted the student chained outside the school on Saturday. Vemulapally police station sub-inspector Satish told PTI that the student used to run away from the madrassa and so the teacher chained him as punishment. The police rescued the student along with two other boys who had escaped the madrassa the previous night and are investigating the incident. According to a report by Headlines Today, the students claimed that they were regularly beaten up by the teacher and that they did not want to study there.Watch this report by Headlines Today.
