Written by : TNM Staff

Firing a sharp salvo at DMK leader MK Stalin, MDMK President Vaiko has criticised him and the erstwhile DMK government for signing off the GAIL pipeline project during his tenure as Deputy Chief Minister.

Speaking at a People’s Welfare Front rally in Thanjavur on Saturday evening, he called Stalin unfit for the Chief Ministerial post.

Vaiko said that the GAIL project would put many farmers’ livelihoods at stake. CPI(M) leader Mutharasan spoke at the rally calling the People’s Welfare Front an able alternative and challenge to AIADMK and DMK - urging voters to go beyond the two parties. “Nobody has pointed a single finger at us for being corrupt,” said Mutharasan, “and that’s why we can being real change. VCK Leader Thol Thirumavalan expressed that he was initially apprehensive of any alliances in his way, but made an exception for the PWF “for the progress of Tamil Nadu more than anything else,” he said.
