The quarrel broke out when BJP candidate M Subramaniam was campaigning along with his cadre and those of the MDMK. However, trouble began as some AIADMK functionaries were campaigning on the same street, said The Hindu. When the AIADMK is said to have urged the BJP functionaries to vote for them, the BJP in return showed their party symbol, the lotus, to the AIADMK asking them to votes for them instead, said the report.
