Two more arrested for spreading rumours about Jayalalithaa’s health

Two more people have been arrested on Thursday in Tamil Nadu for allegedly spreading rumours about Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s health through the social media.

Police arrested T Thirumaniselvam, (28), who hails from Thoothukudi district and works in Indian Overseas Bank and S Balasundaram, (42), from Pammal, who works at a private company in Alwarpet, reports The New Indian Express.

Thirumaniselvam was arrested after a complaint was filed by M Barath Babu of the  AIADMK’s IT Wing, while Balu was held after a complaint by C Hariprabu at the Madipakkam police station. Both were allegedly spreading rumours about Jayalalithaa’s health on Facebook.

On Monday, Chennai Crime Branch had arrested two people, Satish Sharma from Namakkal and P Madasamy from Madurai. In total, police have registered cases against 55 people for spreading rumours about the CM’s health.
