Stopped from reaching temple, villagers protest against INO project in Theni

As per orders from the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, environmental clearance must ben received from the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board before commencing with research work.However, following this, villagers living around the site of the proposed INO site staged a demonstration on Sunday telling the TNPCB not to issue the required clearance for the project. , reported The Hindu.The protest was staged after police prevented residents from visiting a temple on the Amarapper hill. Around 300 people belonging to five villages including Pudukottai and Ramakrishnapuram had been on their way to the temple to offer their gratitude for the decision made by the Madras High Court, reported New Indian Express.
