Rohith Vemula suicide: 23 groups protest against Modi's visit in Coimbatore

Twenty three groups from Tamil Nadu  (social and political) staged black flags protesting against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's arrival in Coimbatore on Tuesday.Two hundred people who were part of the protest were arrested by the police. 
 
Sources told The News Minute that the protest was against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya who is alleged to have applied undue pressure on the Hyderabad university to act against Rohith Vemula and four others. They were protesting against Modi's visit and asking for justice for Rohith Vemula's death.   
 
The Tamil Nadu organizations are Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam, Adi Tamilar Peravai, SFI, AISF and many more.
 
The protest started around 12pm at Lakshmi Mills junction at Avinasi Road. By 2pm, 200 protesters were arrested by Coimbatore police.
