The News Minute | January 15, 2015 | 07.20 am ISTPerumal Murugan, the Tamil writer in the midst of a book controversy in Tamil Nadu asked his publishers to stop selling his books to buyers following days of protests. “I will pay the production cost and compensate unsold books," he said. "Those who have bought my books can consign them to flames. I am also ready to compensate them," he said.  "As I have decided to withdraw all books, I request caste outfits and religious organization to desist from protests... I request the publishers Kaalachuvadu, Natrinai, Adayalam, Malaigal and Kayalkavin who published Perumal Murugan’s books to stop selling them.," he had written in his Facebook post.Read 'Author Perumal Murugan has died' , hounded by Hindutva groups author puts up poignant postAccepting his plea for all books to be withdrawn from the market, his publishers , Kalachuvadu Publishers have withdrawn his book Madhorubhagam from the market, reported the New Indian Express. However, books in possession of distributors continue to be on sale. According to Kannan Sundaram, publisher of Kalachuvadu Publications, the rest of the author’s works will be on sale until the publication needs to go for a reprint, for which they needed the author’s permission, said the report. After news of the possibility of all books being taken off the market, Perumal Murugan’s books at the Chennai Book Fair saw a lot of demand.
