Man gets double life term for raping two minors in Pollachi

The News Minute | December 25, 2014 | 8:35 am ISTA man has been sentenced with a punishment of two life terms and rigorous imprisonment for the rape of two minor girls from a children's home in Pollachi.The district mahila court found the accused Veeran, aged 23 guilty in the rape of the two girls in June this year when he entered the Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church Children's Home, kidnapped the girls aged 9 and 11, and raped them at gunpoint, reported Times of India. Sentenced to RI of 10 years each for kidnapping each of the girls, he was also given 10 years RI for trespass and an additional 7 years RI for criminal intimidation. The father of one of the girls who broke down after the sentence was announced said that he had hoped for death penalty. But since this will ensure he will be in prison, other children will be safe, he said according to the report. Tweet
