Lady police officer seems to have staged a burglary to settle scores

The News Minute | November 26, 2014 | 7.38 am ISTPolice Sub Inspector in Chennai seems to have staged a burglary to settle scores with domestic help, the police suspect.Sub Inspector Bhuvaneshwari of Ayanavaram police station on Monday claimed that she lost 880 g gold and 3 kg silver ornaments and Rs. 15,000 cash, Times of India reported.She lodged a complaint that in a two hour gap when her mother had gone to visit her neighbor the burglary occurred. She claimed that the thieves had entered the house by removing the grill of a window. However, the police found that the window was too narrow for a person to pass through. "We are investigating the possibility that the sub-inspector staged the entire burglary," an investigating officer said.
