Denied his Pongal bonus, man murders employer's wife and stabs children

The News Minute | January 15, 2015 | 08.40 am ISTDenied this year’s Pongal bonus, a teashop employee in Ambattur, Chennai murdered his employee's wife and grievously injured her two kids on Monday. According to Michael Raj, the owner of the shop, he had just fed the accused dinner unaware that the man had just returned after killing his wife and stabbing his two children, reported Times of India. Police said that when owner Raj had refused his employee Vigneshwaran, aged 25, his Pongal advance and leave, he turned violent and killed his wife, Arockia Vanitha and stabbed the two children. The injured kids aged five and two were found by Raj when he returned home that night and were admitted to private hospitals nearby. Initially denying the crime, Vigneshwaran then confessed when shown camera footage that showed him leaving Raj’s house. According to the police, Vigneshwaran left the house with cash and jewellery.
