Cuddalore captures second crocodile after attack on elderly man

The News Minute | January 21, 2015 | 09.20 am ISTIn a second incident involving crocodiles, a small crocodile was captured at Machangkottai in Tamil Nadu.The capture has occurred a day after a nine-foot long crocodile took away an elderly man Chelladurai who was later found dead amongst bushes by the bank of the Old Kollidam river, reported Times of India.The second reptile, measuring seven feet and weighing over 400 kg was captured after a 90 minute struggle.The villagers in the area had on Monday spotted a large crocodile dragging a man into the river. Later Chelladurai’s body was found, badly mutilated. According to people in Cuddalore, crocodile attacks are quite common as attacks have occurred as late as last July, said the report.
