APSC protests even as IIT Madras closes its gates on media

Written by : TNM

On Tuesday, ahead of a planned protest by the Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle, student dissentors gathered raising slogans in front of the institution's gates. Atleast 100 persons protesting outside the campus were detained by the police. However, media gathered to cover a protest by the APSC against the recent "de-recognition" of APSC by IIT Madras were not allowed to enter beyond the college gates. Later, APSC members spoke to the media demanding an unconditional apology from the Ministry of Human Resource Development and IIT Madras.   Media forced to cover @ambedkarperiyar's protest over de-recognition from outside of IIT Madras.
