Watch: Virat Kohli heaps praise on demonetisation, calls it greatest move in Indian politics

Written by : TNM Staff

As the government’s demonetisation move continues to evoke mixed reactions, Indian Test captain Virat Kohli for one is mighty impressed, calling it the “greatest move in the history of Indian politics”.

Kohli mentioned that he was trying to pay his hotel bills in Rajkot with the old currency when he realised that it’s of no use now. “I could have actually signed on it and given it to people. It’s that useless now,” he said.

“For me, it’s the greatest move that I have seen in the history of Indian politics. By far, hands down. I have been so impressed by it. It’s unbelievable what’s happened,” he added.

He was speaking at a press conference in Vizag ahead of the second test match against England which starts there on Thursday.
