A social activist and filmmaker based in Mohali had lodged a complaint with the police over the usage of tricolour by the Indian cricket team on helmets.

In his compliant on Sunday, P Ullhas tweeted, “It is illegal to paste tricolour on helmets. Our national pride is disrespected by that; it is shameful to note that the players are seen spitting on the ground where they also put their helmet (when not in use).”

“Dhoni stopped using the tricolor but others have not. Hence, I took the matter to the cops in Mohali,” he added.

"I was directed by the Delhi High Court and the Home Ministry to inform the nearest police station where players violate the laws,” Deccan Chronicle quoted him saying.

"So far we have not received any such instructions. The order has to come from the BCCI office", an influential member of the team management told the newspaper.

However, this is not the first time that he made the headlines. It was only him who had pointed out that Amitabh Bachchan faltered while singing the national anthem before the India-Pakistan match.
