UP journalist assaulted for objecting dumping of garbage on roadside

 Uttar Pradesh is in the spotlight yet again after a journalist was beaten up by a group of people for objecting to the dumping of garbage on the roadside.The incident took place in Mathura on Saturday evening when Arun Chaturvedi, who edits a Hindi weekly was attacked with a spade and an iron rod allegedly by a dairy farm owner Madan and his four brothers, a report in DNA adds.He was rushed to a hospital after he fell down unconscious. The attackers have been booked under various sections of the IPC and were to be arrested shortly.This came in as another journalist and his family members were allegedly attacked by neighbours who pelted stones and opened fire at his house in Ghaziabad district. The journalist Hafiz Sayeedudin also filed a complaint with the police. An investigation is ongoing.
