Amit Shah's lawyer in two controversial cases set to become Supreme Court judge

The News Minute| July 11, 2014| 8.40 am ISTA lawyer who represented BJP President Amit Shah in two controversial cases involving fake encounters of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and Tulsiram Prajapati is all set to be elevated as a Supreme Court judge. NDTV reports that the Supreme Court collegium lead by the Chief Justice of India has cleared Uday Lalit's name. Uday Lalit was also the special prosecutor in the 2G case.This comes just days after government rejected the name of Gopal Subramaniam as SC judge.Read full story- Lawyer Who Represented Amit Shah Elevated As Supreme Court JudgeThe Hindu adds that Uday Lalit has worked with the former Attorney-General, Soli J. Sorabjee, from 1986 to 1992 and has appeared in a number of leading criminal cases including the one against Hasan Ali Khan, the Pune businessman accused of money laundering.
