Written by : TNM Staff

After the LDF got a decisive mandate in the assembly election a day earlier, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy submitted his resignation on Friday.

Around 10.30 am, Chandy handed over his resignation letter to Kerala governor P Sadasivam.

The LDF will conduct a meeting on Friday to decide on the next chief minster and select other cabinet ministers. Though there is no unanimity within LDF about who should be the next CM, Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan is the frontrunner while VS Achuthanandan would be given a cabinet post, according to reports.

Meanwhile, speaking to the media after the election results, Oommen Chandy hinted that he would not be the opposition leader.
