Written by : TNM Staff

Ambili Fathima who is now recuperating at a Chennai hospital after a heart and lungs transplant has found a saviour in actor Manju Warrier.

The 22 year old was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension – a rare medical condition – and a surgical transplant of both the heart and the lungs was reportedly the only way out for her. A crowdfunding campaign raised Rs 40 lakh for these surgeries.

Fathima, an MCom student of the CSM College in Kottayam district, hopes to be a civil service aspirant, and Manju has offered to bear all the expenses of her coaching classes besides giving Rs. 5 lakhs for further treatment, news reports said.

She has reportedly secured 85% marks in her exam for which she appeared just a day before leaving for Chennai for the rare medical procedure.
