Sunni Leader Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker on Sunday lashed out against the Muslim League candidate in the Mannarkkad constituency ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.

Inaugurating the annual conference of Markaz Alumni Association, the All-India Sunni Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary urged his followers to ensure the defeat of Muslim League candidate N Shamsudheen in Mannarkkad.

He hinted at the MLA having a role in the murderers of two Sunni workers in Mannarkkad, securing bail. “The incumbent Muslim League MLA in Mannarkkad shouldn’t be allowed to win again,” Kanthapuram said, without taking any name.

He also criticized the state government and the Muslim League for the inadequate representation of Sunnis in Kerala State Wakf Board.
