Suspended IPS officer Alok Kumar alleges 'smear campaign' against him on WhatsApp

Suspended IPS officer Alok Kumar has sent a WhatsApp message to his batchmates across the country stating that he is a victim of a smear campaign being carried out by two senior police officers in the state.According to a report in the Bangalore Mirror, Alok in his message also criticised a batchmate, alleging that the latter could not tolerate his growing popularity. The message has left everyone guessing who are the unnamed batchmates and other IPS officers.“For the past two years, a few senior IPS officers, including one of our batchmates, were not able to tolerate my name, fame and popularity. I served three stints in the city and made a name for myself in Karnataka,” reads Alok’s message to his batchmates.He has even claimed that the CID investigation was an eyewash and he was suspended based only on call records, and was never given an opporitunity to explain his side of the story.Read more : Explained: The big lottery scam that is rocking Karnataka police
