Starting from Monday, power supply in many parts of south and central Bengaluru will be affected for the next five days, till Friday. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom) said that power supply will be interrupted between 9am and 6pm on these days for areas coming under the 66/11KV Austin town Substation and 66/11KV Koramangala Substation for installation of circuit breaker interrupter chamber in 66KV Kanteerava Bay in Sir MV 220/66/11KV Substation. The announcement was made by HD Channakeshava, Executive Engineer of Operation and Maintenance of Koramangala Division.

Areas that will be affected under the Austin Town division will include AustinTown BWSSB office, Philomena Hospital, KSRP Quarters, Anjeneya Temple Street, Chambel Road, Sacred Heart Church, Cathedral School, Thomas Café, Neelasandra Cement Line, Austin Town BDA complex area,, Munegowda Garden, Aneplaya area. Shoppers stop, Garuda Mall, St. Marks road, Siddaiah Road. Ashok Nagar, Lavelle road, Brigade road, Wood street and surrounding areas.

For Koramangala Sub station, areas that will be affected include the National Games Village area, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th blocks of Koramangala, 1st block Jakkasandra extension, Rajendra Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Koramangala Village, Raheja Residency, parts of ST Bed and surrounding areas.

These power cut announcements were made in the back of similar announcement of phased power interruptions from  November 29 to December 3 between 10am to 5pm in areas like Ejipura, Nadughatta, Sundari Memorial School area, Vivek Nagar, Rama Temple Road area, Srinivagilu, ST Bed area, Austin Town, Neelasandra, Munegowda Garden, Anepalya and other surrounding locations.
