Newborn abandoned at hospital after mother's death

The News Minute | December 20, 2014 | 4.25 pm ISTA two-month old baby lies in a hospital in Karnataka all alone, but she’s not an orphan who was left there.Two months ago a woman named Govindamma from Kaaratagi in Koppala district was admitted to the VIMS hospital in Bellary district. Govindamma died after she delivered the baby and her family simply went away with her body and never came back. Hospital authorities and police suspect that the child was abandoned because it is a girl.Since then, the baby has been in the ICU of hospital and has been responding to treatment but is still unwell.Later, the police found out that the Govindamma’s address registered with the hospital was a false one and police are now trying to locate the family of the woman.
