Karnataka woman, who swam for 90 minutes while being pregnant to reach hospital, gives birth to baby boy

The News Minute | September 1, 2014 | 01:27 pm ISTYellavva Balappa Gaddige, the woman who swam across the flooded Krishna River in pregnant condition almost a month ago, so that she could reach a hospital for delivery, has given birth to a baby boy, states a report by Bangalore Mirror.Her son was born on August 30, after a Caesarian section, and weighs around 4 kg, states the report.Yellavva, who hails from the village of Neelakantarayanagadde, swam for around 90 minutes in the Krishna to reach a hospital after her village was cut off by the river during monsoon.
