K’taka: Dalit girl abducted and gang raped by autorickshaw drivers for two days in Chikkaballapur

A Dalit girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang raped at Dinne Hosahalli in Chikkaballapur Rural police station limits. The police have arrested 3 men in connection with the case.

The police said that the 21-year-old girl, who is a resident of Kornahalli of Dodderi Hobli in Madhugiri taluk of Tumakuru district, was abducted from a bus stand at Dinne Hosahalli on May 20. She was waiting for the bus after meeting her friend, reported The Times of India.

She was approached by three autorickshaw drivers, who offered to drop her at her village. Instead, they took her to a secluded area and raped her for two days.

On May 24, the police found her roaming in the area and took her to Santhvana Kendra, an NGO for women.

Narayanappa of Santhvana Kendra said that the girl was initially hesitant, but later narrated everything that happened on the fateful day.

Police have arrested three autorickshaw drivers, Shivu, Shashidhar and Ramesh Babu for rape. They have also arrested another person Girish as they suspect his involvement in the crime reported TOI.

The girl was sent to the government hospital for medical examination.
