When Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathy steps out to take a walk in the rains that Bengaluru has been seeing, she wouldn’t need an umbrella or a raincoat.

All she needs to do is wear the new waterproof saree that her husband bought her.

During the inauguration of Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation in Davanagere on Tuesday, chief minister picked out the orange saree from the latest threads of gold collection unveiled by the government.  The saree cost a whopping Rs.1.08 lakh, reported India Today.

What’s more, to convince himself that the saree was really waterproof and that he is not being duped, CM even poured a litre of water on it.
