The Karnataka Congress on Friday took on the Centre, coming out with a list of its “30 failures” on the occasion of three years of the Modi government.
A day after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and AICC general secretary in-charge of party affairs in Karnataka KC Venugopal called the Centre a "U-turn government" for failing to fulfil its own poll promises, the BJP in the state has hit back.
Addressing a press meet in Bengaluru on Saturday, BJP Karnataka State President and CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa called the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government a "corrupt" one.
"Corruption is rampant in the Karnataka government, which is led by the Congress. Honest bureaucrats are not able to work freely in the state," Yeddyurappa hit out.
Yeddyurappa also alleged that absolutely no development has taken place in Karnataka in the last four years of Congress rule.
Asked by reporters about the Congress's allegations of lack of leadership in BJP, Yeddyurappa retorted: "Who are the leaders in their party? No one. Let them say one or two names in the national level and in the state. What is happening in their party is infighting and nothing else," Yeddyurappa said.
In a press meet held in Bengaluru on Friday, the Congress party had released a short video "3 years and 30 failures."
Among the notable failures, was that the BJP had renamed many flagships programmes by the previous UPA government, in an attempt to mislead the people of the country.
From the farmers’ crisis to increasing unemployment, BJP government's landmark Swachh Bharat initiative too, came under severe criticism from the Congress.
On Saturday, it was time for Yeddyurappa to lash out at the ruling Congress party in the state.
Yeddyurappa praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the recent regulation that bans sale of cattle in animal markets for slaughtering.
Commenting on the matter, BJP's senior leader KS Eshwarappa too, lauded the central government's decision.
"Banning cow slaughter was Mahatma Gandhi's dream, that our party has fulfilled after 70 years. Cow is not just an animal, but it is the symbol of our culture," Eshwarappa remarked.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Arun Jaitley is set to address people in Bengaluru on Sunday, on the occasion of BJP completing 3 years at the Centre.
