Constable who took video of DK Ravi’s body being lowered from noose suspended

The News Minute| April 7, 2015| Bengaluru police have finally identified the person who took the video of deceased IAS officer DK Ravi's body being lowered from the noose. A member of the fingerprint bureau, police constable Renukesh, had recorded the procedure on his mobile phone on the day the body was discovered in Ravi’s apartment. A senior officer told Bangalore Mirror, "The police constable, Renukesh, who has more than 15 years of experience, has been suspended for dereliction of duty." But Rohini Katoch Sepat, DCP, South East, who is handling the case currently has denied these reports. Besides the police, no one had access to the apartment. Still, within a few hours a video was being circulated on WhatsApp showing police officers, some from the fingerprint bureau, and forensic experts examining the crime scene. Even Ravi's wife and father-in-law were sent out.To trace the culprit, all policemen's mobile phones were checked for the recording. Later, one officer from the fingerprint bureau said that he had seen a constable holding a mobile phone to his chest with the camera facing the dead body.
