Cattle trader Kabir's death unintentional says magisterial inquiry

The News Minute | March 23, 2015 | 4.00 pm ISTAlmost a year after a young cattle trader was shot dead by Anti-Naxal Force constable in coastal Karnataka, the magisterial inquiry into his death has been completed.Kabir (23) was shot dead by ANF personnel on April 19, 2014, when he and five others were returning from Shringeri after purchasing cattle. They were stopped by the ANF at the Tanikodu forest check post in Udupi district and shots were fired. Kabir’s family has since filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission.Read: All Kabir wanted was Rs 6,000 to pay the rent, says his familyThe magisterial inquiry, conducted by the Deputy Commissioner of Chikmaglur district where the incident occurred, concluded that the shooting was unintentional.
