​ ​Bengaluru woman hit by a concrete mixer donates eyes before dying

​A Bengaluru woman, was allegedly run over by a concrete mixer on Outer Ring Road near HSR Layout traffic police limits on Sunday afternoon. She succumbed to her injuries on the same day.

The deceased has been identified as Sharanya. She is a resident of Jain Temple Road in VV Puram. While at the hospital, she reportedly requested for her kidneys and eyes to be donated, reported Bangalore Mirror.

According to Bangalore Mirror, the 24-year-old BPO employee in Bellandur was riding on her two-wheeler when the concrete mixer tried to overtake her from the left blocking her way to ride ahead.

Police said that the accident occurred at around 1 pm. A rashly driven concrete mixer of registration number KA-01-D-472 hit her vehicle. The wheels of the truck run over her causing fracture in the head. She was wearing a half-helmet.

The driver of the truck is absconding.

She was rushed to Sakra hospital for treatment, where she died an hour later. Before she died she reportedly asked for her kidneys and eyes to be donated. However, only her eyes were donated since her kidneys had become non-functional.
