After being on the floors for nearly a year, the makers of Suriya’s upcoming Tamil heist-comedy Thaana Serntha Kootam (TSK) have confirmed that the film will finally hit the screens for Pongal next year. Since no other Tamil biggie has so far confirmed to release around the same time, the makers of TSK went ahead and locked the date. The film will have only two weeks window to make an impact at the box-office as superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated 2.0, a sequel to Enthiran, has been confirmed to release for Republic Day weekend next year.

In an official poster released on Sunday night, the makers of TSK confirmed the release date. It was also announced via the poster that the film’s second single will be released in October, the teaser in November and the audio, trailer launch in December. The makers have so far released two posters and the hit single Naana Thaana Vena Pona.

On Sunday, a new poster featuring Suriya in a colourful avatar was released. The film, rumoured to be a remake of Akshay Kumar-starrer Special 26, marks the first collaboration of Suriya and director Vignesh Shivan, best known for helming Poda Podi and Naanum RowdydhaanTSK also stars Keerthy Suresh and Ramya Krishnan in key roles and has music by Anirudh Ravichander.

Suriya will be seen in two different looks in Thaana Serntha Kootam, in which he has decided to try his hands at comedy after a long time and this shift from regular action films might work in his favour. The film will be dubbed in Telugu and is most likely to have a simultaneous release. The film has been produced by Studio Green.
