Over a week after Suriya starrer 24 released, Qube Digital Network, a digital cinema server organisation announced that piracy had taken place in a theatre in Bengaluru where actor Suriya's film 24 was being screened.
A forensic watermarking detection report of a DVD containing pirated version of the Tamil movie showed that it the movie was shot off-screen during the show on May 6, 2016 at 9:45am IST, which happens to be the first day of the release.
It also indicated that the playback was from a Doremi server, and based on their database this server is registered at Screen 3 of PVR Orion Mall- Bangalore.

Senthil, co-founder of Qube Digital Network said, "We got the CD of the video from the producer and we checked for invisible forensic watermarking. It must have been one of the audience. I am not sure if the distributor would cancel the license for this, because this is a recurring problem."
The distributor of the film B Sakthivelan, who is the marketing head of distribution company Dream Factory, tweeted saying that the they have withdrawn digital license of Chennai.

Hussain a manager of PVR theatre at Orion Mall however denied that piracy could have taken place as the screen 3 was reserved for Gold Class.
