Kiccha Sudeep’s Phailwan caught the attention of film buffs with a teaser release some time ago. The massive response to the teaser has prompted the filmmakers to release the film’s Hindi version in theatres. Earlier, the plan was to release the film on digital platforms and on YouTube, but now it will be out in theatres thanks to the immense popularity Sudeep enjoys across the country. Sources in the know say that three production houses are in the fray to bag the theatrical rights of this film and an official word will be out once the deal is struck.

Sudeep plays a boxer and wrestler in the flick and being his first ever sports drama, he underwent a lot of training to learn the nuances of martial arts. The actor flew down to Thailand where he trained rigorously under the guidance of some experts.

Produced and directed by S Krishna, this film marks his collaboration with Sudeep for the second time after the massive success of Hebbuli. Incidentally, S Krishna will be making his debut as producer with Phailwan by making it under his banner RRR Productions. Arjun Janya has been roped in to compose the tunes for Phailwan while Karunakar will be cranking the camera.

Sudeep is currently busy with Kottigobba 3 for which he has penned the story as well apart from playing the lead role. Also, the versatile actor will be seen in the Telugu period movie Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, in which he plays a pivotal role. Sudeep will share screen space with Tollywood mega star Chiranjeevi and Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan in this magnum opus, which is being directed by Surendhar Reddy and produced by Ram Charan Teja under his production house Konidela Production Company. He also has the Hindi film Dabangg 3 and Malayalam movie Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham in the pipeline.
