Tollywood star Mahesh Babu undoubtedly has a huge fan following in the United States and almost all his films have done well at the box office there.

In fact, he is the first Tollywood star to cross the $1 million mark in the US box office with Dookudu.

With his Spyder all set for release on September 27, there are huge expectations among his fans; particularly from the NRIs in the US.

According to the estimates by trade sources, Spyder is expected to collect $10 million and the first-day premier should collect about $2million.

Sources say that the figures are not exaggerated as the film is all set to release in about 400 screens in the US alone.

It may be mentioned here that Prabhas’ Baahubali remains the highest grosser in the US till date with the film releasing in about 600 screens. Looks like Spyder may come a close second now.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film has Mahesh Babu playing an intelligence officer in this spy thriller. It has Rakul Preet Singh playing his female lead with SJ Surya, Bharath, RJ Balaji (Tamil), Priyadarshi Pullikonda (Telugu) and Shaji Chen in the star cast.

It is produced by NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu under the banner NVR Cinemas.

Harris Jayaraj has scored the music for this flick while Santosh Sivan handled the cinematography and A. Sreekar Prasad editing it.

With Mahesh Babu all set to make his debut in the Tamil film industry with Spyder, expectations are too high.

The star’s Tamil dubbed films have done well at the box office in the state and the team is hopeful that Spyder would turn out to be a big hit.
