Kamal Haasan ghost-directing Sabash Naidu?

Written by : TNM

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan, who has helmed several films over the years, is reportedly ghost-directing his upcoming trilingual film, Sabash Naidu, going by his latest tweet from the sets of the movie in Los Angeles.

In his tweet on Friday, he wrote that he’s directing a song because the film’s director T.K Rajeev Kumar is unwell. This led to reports that Rajeev and Kamal had an argument over some creative decision and the former walked out of the project. However, when The News Minute contacted someone from the team, the rumours were immediately rubbished.

“Kamal sir was just filling in for Rajeev, who is down with fever and hospitalized. Rajeev should be back in a week and until then Kamal sir will be directing some portion of the film including a song, which we are currently filming,” a source told TNM.

The film reintroduces audiences to Balram Naidu, the popular character from Dasavatharam. Simultaneously being made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, the film has an ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Roger Narayanan and Saurabh Shukla.

With Ilayaraja taking care of the music, the film is slated for theatrical release on December 1 in all the three languages. The project also features Akshara Haasan, in the role of assistant director.
