Congress leaders protest in Tirupati; raise slogans against negligence of government

The News Minute | November 25, 2014 | 10:20 am ISTA group of Congress members along with their supporters organized a protest at the local Rural Development Office protesting against various pending projects and issues in Tirupati on Monday. The group led by former Member of Parliament Chinta Mohan, raised slogans against the negligence of the government in implementing projects that were sanctioned.According to a report in The Hindu, the former MP particularly highlighted the issues regarding house sites for poor women, the factory for the NTPC-BHEL Power Project and medical facilities that were due to come up.Chinta Mohan also blamed the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the independent trust which manages the finances of the Tirumala temple, for suspending its employees in an indiscriminate manner. He also lashed out against the recent decision to hike the price of LPG cylinders to Rs.1000 and labeled it “anti-poor”. Many Congress leaders took part including the Town Congress President, Chittoor District Congress President and District Mahila Congress president.
