70-year-old man dies after falling from third floor of hospital in AP

A 70-year-old man died on Saturday after he allegedly fell from the third floor of a hospital in Nellimarla village near Vizianagram, police said.

The patient, identified as G Surya Narayana, was admitted to Maharaja Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) hospital in Nellimarla, around 15 kms from Vizianagram, went to answer nature's call early morning and accidentally fell out a window adjacent to the washroom, they said.

He hit the terrace of the first floor, receiving serious head injuries and later succumbed, Nellimarla police station sub-inspector H Upendra said.

There was no attendant with him when the incident was occurred.

A case under section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC was registered in this regard, the officer added.
