Video: Four policeman and officer’s son arrested for assaulting watchman in Hyderabad

The police on Sunday arrested five persons including four police personnel and son of a police officer for assaulting a watchman in Hyderabad.

According to a press release, Chityala Amruth, a watchman in Saidabad filed a complaint on September 1 that four persons accompanied by police came in a Sumo vehicle and forcibly took him to the police station and beat him up.

Examination of CCTV footages from nearby areas revealed the identity of the persons who assaulted the watchman. 

The police took Ambati Prithviraj, Buranthapally Shiva Raj, Chakali Mallesh, Uppari Ravi Kumar and Anthigirpally Rajkumar into custody on Sunday, following which, they confessed to the crime. They have been booked under Sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of IPC.

NDTV reports that Prithviraj, son of an inspector had picked a fight with the watchman, as an argument between the watchman and his wife had disturbed Prithviraj, a student.
