Three deaths from swine flu in Hyderabad; health department on alert

The News Minute | December 18, 2014 | 7:35 am ISTHyderabad witnessed three deaths from swine flu caused by the H1N1 virus in 24 hours on Wednesday which has put the health department officials on alert to track undetected cases and distribute anti-viral pills.According to a report in the Times of India, the Telangana health department said that two deaths were reported in the state run Gandhi Hospital whereas the third patient died while he was being shifted to the hospital.Authorities plan to distribute “Oseltamivir”, the antiviral medication to treat swine flu and mark the localities of the three deceased patients.There are 61 confirmed positive cases of swine flu reported from both AP and Telangana and Telangana’s share stands at 52. The death toll from swine flu in 2014 for both the states is 13.
