Governor announces common EAMCET; Telangana denies and calls it “illogical and impractical”

The News Minute | December 13, 2014 | 8:20 am ISTThe common Governor of Telangana and AP E.S.L Narasimhan said on Friday after a meeting with Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi that the two states would have a common Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Entrance test (EAMCET) for the coming academic year.According to a report in the Times of India, the AP government said it would strive for common EAMCET but the Telangana government rejected it immediately and labeled it “illogical and impractical”Narasimhan who was in Delhi to discuss the various issues that have cropped up between the two states after bifurcation said that all was well in the two states.AP HRD minister Ganta Srinivas said that a decision on the EAMCET would be taken in a meeting with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on December 15, the report adds.However there are also talks that the governor is unhappy with the stance taken by the Telangana government and is said to have discussed Telangana’s opposition for common exams with Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday.
