Eight killed as live wire falls on bus carrying marriage party in Telangana

In a tragic incident, eight people were killed and 20 injured after a high-tension power line snapped and fell on a truck carrying a marriage party in Telangana's Medak district on Sunday evening.

The New Indian Express reported:

The victims were returning to their village after attending a marriage function in Sangareddy on Sunday. After the function, they boarded a truck to return to their native. As the truck reached Devulanaik Thanda, the truck came in contact with a high tension wire which got snapped and was dangling in the air at a height of four metres from ground-level.

The police told the newspaper that the condition of six people was critical.
