Congress talking of family rule is joke of the millennium: KTR hits out at Rahul Gandhi

Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao lashed out at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday evening, following the latter's massive rally at Sangareddy.

Stating that unemployment is the biggest challenge faced by India, Rahul Gandhi asked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to stop making "hollow promises" and set up factories to provide jobs to the youth.

It was not the Telangana for which students, youth, women and other sections of people fought, said Rahul Gandhi.

However, KTR, who is also KCR's son, took to Twitter soon after the speech, and hit back at Rahul Gandhi in a series of tweets.

"Some so called 'national leaders' of 'national' parties who can't even win an election in their own backyard, make tall claims elsewhere," he said, in his first dig.

Rahul Gandhi also claimed that only one family of four members was cornering all the benefits in the new state, hinting at KCR, KTR, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha and Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao.

However, KTR pointed out that Rahul said this even as there were large cut outs of Congress leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in the same venue where he made the remark.

"Indian Notional Congress leadership talking of 'family rule' has to be the joke of the millennium. Classic comedy," (sic), he said.

"They talk of family rule from the same ground. Classic Scamgress," he added.

Stating that Telangana of the dreams of people was yet to become a reality, the Congress leader promised that the the national party would make it a manufacturing hub if it was voted to power. "I want to see made in Telangana here," he said while showing his mobile phone.

"There are already five mobile companies manufacturing out of Telangana. If you need a 'Made in Telangana' mobile, go around & know your facts," KTR hit back.

Stating that TRS government was arresting farmers for demanding remunerative prices for their produce, Rahul said that the Congress Government implemented a loan waiver of Rs 70,000 crore.

To this, KTR replied, "While that (figure) was for the whole of the country, the TRS govt waived off Rs. 17,000 crore of farm loans in one state."

KTR also told the Congress leader, "Pre-scripted speeches written by bunch of discredited local leaders can at best make your party look silly. Get your facts right Rahul Ji."
