Will one of Chennai's most congested areas, Mylapore soon become pedestrian-friendly?

An area smack right in the heart of Chennai, Mylapore , which sees heavy vehicular traffic around its temple area every day may soon breathe freely.If plans by the Corporation of Chennai go according to schedule, soon enough, a few of the most crowded streets in the Mylapore, RK Mutt Road, North and South Mada street may soon become pedestrian friendly, reported Times of India.A plan which could cost 5.5 crore and take six months to finish will not complete bar vehicles on on the streets. While North and South Mada street will get bigger pavements, East Mada Street and RK Mutt Road will still have two-way traffic, said the report.The congested area which is home to the famous Kapaleeswarar temple is home to heavy motor traffic everyday has been causing inconvenience to pedestrians who frequent the temple.
