The News Minute | November 22, 2014 | 08.30 am ISTMost people rob out of need. One thief in Chennai’s only reason for stealing from multiple houses was his craze for the smell that currency notes give off. Named in 24 robbery, burglary and chain snatching cases in Chennai, Coimbatore and Cuddalore, 29 year-old E. Raj Kumar has been giving the police the slip for a number of years, reported Times of India. He was arrested once before after which his fingerprints were taken. The police then found his fingerprints matching the prints at a number of burgled houses, said the report. Police realized his fetish for currency notes when they found images of the man sleeping on currency notes. “He gets a kick out of it,” said an officer according to the report.
