Cake-cutting and fireworks - Leaders go all out in celebration of LTTE Prabhakaran's 60th birth anniversary

The News Minute | November 27, 2014 | 8:20 am ISTLTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran’s 60 the birth anniversary was celebrated across the State on Wednesday.Following cake-cutting by the MDMK to celebrate the leader’s birthday, the outfiut got permission to commemorate Heroes Day to pay their respects to the LTTE outfit in which a number of cadre lost their lives in a war in Sri Lanka, reported The New Indian Express. A number of leaders issued statements on the leader’s birth anniversary. VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan, Thamizhar Vazhvurimai Katchi leader Velmurugan, Tamizhar Desiya Munnani leader P Nedumaran and Thamizh Desiya Periyakkam leader P Maniyarasan made statements on the leader's 60th birth anniversary Criminal proceedings against Seeman, leader of Naam Tamilar Iyakkam for making a speech at a public meeting have been stayed after the court decided that even though LTTE is a 'proscribed organisation', there is no law prohibiting speeches regarding the outfit, reported The New Indian Express. On Wednesday night, the women's wing of the MDMK gathered at the party headquarters celebrated the day with fireworks.
