This seems to be the big mystery that's keeping media and the movie industry busy in Kerala.Premam movie piracy row took another curious turn with its director Alphonse Puthren being questioned by Anti-Piracy cell for almost 8 hours on Wednesday. The first reports indicated that Puthren had been summoned for giving his statements, but later when the inquiry team reached his apartment and reported that he was being questioned by the officials, possibly for being responsible for the leak. Some reports also claimed a clash between Puthren and the film’s producer Anwar Rasheed. However, after the questioning session Puthren lashed out at media persons who were present outside. He said that he did not have any role in the piracy row. He blamed media for cooking up stories and declared that there were no issues between him and Rasheed. But the deluge in reports didn't stop even then. Some reports quoted sources withing the anti-piracy cell saying they had got relevant evidence from Puthren.  The director had fallen in the radar of suspicion as the movie was edited in his studio and he was someone who possessed a 'Censor Copy' of the movie. The leaked copy of the movie which were shared on torrents carried the watermark "Censor Copy”. Producers usually include the water mark “Censor Copy” on copies of the movie handed over to the Censor Board.Following this, producer Anwar Rasheed had quit his membership from all Malayalam film associations accusing them of not supporting his demand for stringent action against piracy. The film’s lead actor Nivin Pauly has also come down heavily against piracy. "It is now doubtful if the film will complete 50 days in the theatres. Let this not happen to any other film," Pauly said a function.
