Kerala polls: 'We don't need star candidates', posters against KPAC Lalitha

Written by : TNM Staff

Posters in the name of LDF have appeared in some parts of Wadakkancherry against the candidature of veteran actor KPAC Lalitha. The posters stated that the constituency doesn’t need star candidates who are `imposed from above' but a ground leader.

Posters also proposed the name of Xavier Chittilappilly, a young leader from the area, as the candidate.

“This area doesn’t need a candidate ‘imposed from top’. We need a leader who knows the pulse of the Wadakkancherry. This protest is the emotion of public,” some of the posters stated.

But CPI (M) leaders denied any involvement of party in this posters. They alleged that anti-party forces are behind the posters.

However, KPAC Lalitha told media that she was not a candidate ‘imposed from top’, and has been close to the party for several decades. She also said that controversies give her strength to win.

District leadership of the party has informed that they will move legally against those who put up posters.
