Beedi tycoon Mohammed Nisham’s plea seking bail in the Chandrabose murder case has been rejected by the Thrissur Additional Sessions Court on Friday.

 

Nisham’s remand period under the Kerala Antisocial Activities Prevention Act (KAAPA) got over on Friday.

Nisham was detained for six months after he was slapped with KAAPA on March 11.

 

He will be eligible for bail only after his detention period under the Act ends.

However the prosecution had requested the court not to grant bail to Nisham as he may undermine the case in which the witnesses' trial is yet to be finished.

 

The court has accepted the prosecution’s stand.

 

According to media reports the court hearings will begin on October 6.

 

It was on January 29 the 'King beedi' owner Muhammed Nisham allegedly assaulted and rammed his car over Chandrabose, a security guard at Shobha City apartments, Thrissur. Chandrabose later succumbed to injuries.
