The News Minute | December 22, 2014 | 7.31 pm ISTAfter the recent Karnataka High Court order which permitted Kambala under certain conditions, the traditional racing sport was held at Baradi on Saturday under strict vigilance by Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI), Tahsildar Raghavendra, revenue officials and police personnel, reported Deccan Herald.According to the report, 21 non-cognizable complaints and an FIR were lodged by at the Karkala Rural police station in Baradi. The complaints have been registered against the organisers for ill-treatment of the animals that took part in the racing event. An FIR was also filed under ‘IPC Section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) and Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle etc),’ said the report.
