Jayalalithaa DA case: Karnataka to recover expenses incurred from Tamil Nadu

The Karnataka government on Thursday decided to ask Tamil Nadu government to reimburse the expenses incurred while conducting the trial of AIADMK leader J Jayalalalithaa and three others in the disproportionate assets case.  According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the law department had spent Rs. 5.12 crore while the expenses incurred by the home department for security arrangements are yet to be arrived at. Law Minister T B Jayachandra said that Supreme Court had made a provision to seek reimbursement of all the expenses from Tamil Nadu when the case was transferred from Tamil Nadu to Karnataka. The state government would seek reimbursement once again after filing an appeal in the Supreme Court against the acquittal order of the Karnataka High Court, the minister added.
